Psycho-cybernetics and Plastic Surgery
Posted Under: plastic surgery, self esteem, self image
Maxwell Maltz M.D. was a top plastic surgeon who performed many cosmetic and reconstructive operations. Most patients were very satisfied and happy with his work. However, quite a few did not feel any different because their self image had not changed and they suffered from low self esteem.
He would ask these patients to look in the mirror and they could see the objective difference and improvement but they still did not feel any different. So Dr. Maltz developed psycho-cybernetics which is a the use of imagery to change the unconscious mind’s perception of self image.
If you are (and if you are not) concidering plastic surgery read Psycho-cybernetics and discover how you can improve your self image with the use of imagery and other techniques taught in this grabd daddy of self improvement books. I think Psycho-cybernetics and “Think and Grow Rich,” by Napoleon Hill are two of the most important self improvement books ever written and are both suggested reading if you are contemplating cosmetic surgery.
I like to end this post by mentioning that plastic surgery is not a panacia but it can boost your self esteem if done by the right surgeon and you are ready for it physically and psychologically. However, like any operation there are potential dangers (as well as costs) and you should examin all option well before going under the scalple.
