Cosmetic Surgery Danger – Anesthesia
Posted Under: cosmetic surgery, dangers of plastic surgery, plastic surgery
Many people imagine that because cosmetic surgery is elective it is less dangerous than other forms of surgery. In fact since many cosmetic procedures are not performed by plastic surgeons and are done at offices rather than inpatient hospitals with emergency care facilities, they may be more dangerous than other surgeries.
Among the dangers of any surgery anesthesia is a large contributing factor.
The side effects of anesthesia can include:
abnormal heart rate, blood clots, brain damage, heart attack, and stroke’
Thus those with cardiac conditions, brain injury, or dysfunction of the liver may be at greater risk during surgery than those who are healthy.
The problems are more likely to occur when a person who administers the anesthesia is not a trained anesthesiologist. This can be further complicated by the lack of facilities if cosmetic surgery is done in an office as an outpatient procedure. Moreover if the cosmetic surgeon is not fully trained (is not board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgeons) then you could have even more problems compounding each other.
In general, it is best to request an anesthesiology specialist. Most often, people have had difficulty when they attempt to have plastic surgery performed for cheap prices. A doctor who performs surgery in a “back room” may not be licensed or experienced in addressing problems that might occur during anesthesia.
So be careful when having cosmetic surgery as a gorgeous stunning corps is still dead.
