Some breast cosmetic surgeries are covered by insurance

Most people think that health insurance companies will never pay for any breast plastic surgery. Many health insurance programs will pay for breast surgery which is necessary for health reasons.
Thus breast implants placed as part of breast reconstruction after breast cancer mastectomy are typically paid for (the first occasion this is needed). Also if you have breast implants and they need to be removed for health reasons (they burst or something else health threatening) your insurance company may pay for the removal but not for the replacement.
The most important breast surgery performed by a cosmetic surgeon which is often paid for by insurance companies is breast reduction plastic surgery. More often than not this is performed for health reasons to control back and other pains.
If large breast size causes you pain you have reasonable medical cause to want to reduce your breast size. Breast reduction surgery relieves the tension that the excess weight on the muscles of the neck, shoulders, and back. This tension can become so great that it can impair your ability to perform your job, lift your children, exercise, have an active life, or simply enjoy the quality of your life. This tension can also have long-term effects on the body that can lead to more serious problems later in life. In short, the sooner the issue is corrected, the better.
Many women with smaller breasts may imagine that they would be ready to suffer the pain and discomfort of being well endowed. But they are not the ones suffering and whose health is affected.
An interesting thing is that the proportion of ladies who have breast enhancement surgery done is the same in France as in the USA but in the USA four out of five cosmetic breast operations are for breast enlargement, but in France four out of five women have a breast reduction.
So if you have large boobs and they are uncomfortable think about reducing them. Talk to your insurance company (if you have health insurance – but that’s a different story) and you may be covered.
